Who can attend? 

Hand Building Pottery Workshops for Beginners is designed for individuals who are new to the art of  pottery and wish to learn the basics of hand building techniques before moving to the Wheel pottery.  These workshops are suitable for a wide range of participants including adults, teens, and children who  are interested in learning about pottery. No prior experience is required to attend this workshop.

What will you learn? 

Hand building is one of the oldest form of art. It is a method of creating pottery without the use of a  pottery wheel. Instead, the potter shapes the clay by hand using various techniques. This method  allows for more creative freedom and versatility in the shapes and forms that can be created.

In the Hand Building Pottery Workshop for Beginners, you will learn the basics of hand building pottery  techniques that includes

  • Wedging techniques- Bull head and Ox head technique
  • Coiling: Building a pot by wrapping and shaping coils of clay, which are then smoothed and joined together.
  • Pinching: Creating a pot by pinching and shaping small balls of clay.
  • Slab building: Creating a pot by rolling out slabs of clay and joining them together • Surface decoration
  • Glazing: Techniques for applying and layering glaze to your pottery, including the use of underglaze and overglaze. Last 1 session will be on Glazing

Points to note 

  • Free Potter’s Kit will be provided on the first day. The Potter’s Kit will have a Brand New cotton Apron exclusively for you, a toolkit containing all essential tools for pottery making and all this will be packed in easy to carry cotton bag so that you can always  have the access to your stuff.
  • We will also provide free shelf space for storing the clay and articles made by you
  • Only 6 articles can be glazed and fired for the student. This is subject to size of the article. The instructor will decide which 10 can go for firing
  • During the entire duration of the course in case you miss a class due to unforeseen circumstances, 2 compensatory classes will be given. These classes will be given only on Thursdays and Fridays. The availability will be basis  of slots. Studio has all rights to decide when can the compensatory classes be given
  •  In case the student fails to attend that class also then no other compensatory classes will  be given
  • Extra clay, extra glaze and extra firing will be chargeable as per the rate card
  • Students can choose to buy more practice hours post the classes. Please contact the studio manager for more details and slot availability.

Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy 

  • The booking amount includes GST. A receipt & payment acknowledgement will be auto-mailed to you post the booking.
  • GST Invoice will be given once you visit the studio for workshop
  • As the seats are limited, cancellation is possible only if the cancellation request has been made at least 7 days before the course begins.
  • Any cancellation with refund will attract 3% deduction towards the payment gateway charges. The charges are deducted by the Payment Gateway directly.
  • No show or absence in the workshop cannot be considered for refund.
  • The course comes as a full package. In case the student misses any class or does not attend further classes, no refund or no partial refund will be provided
  • Bookings will open 20 days in advance. You can book online through our website www.mudeffects.com. The announcement related to opening of workshop booking will be done through our website and social media as well.
  • Seats can be blocked only after 100% payment
