Who can attend?

This workshop is intended for people who want to make Ganesha with their own hands. Every year we all welcome Ganesha to our home and what can be better than you making it with your own hands. This Ganesha is Eco friendly and does not need firing at all. You can make the Ganesha and take it home for worship and later immersion.

What will you learn?

In this 2 hour long session, you will learn the basic techniques for making Ganesha Idol. This is NOT a moulded Ganesha but completely handmade one which means that each part of Ganesha will be made one by one. This will also give you flexibility to make your Ganesha Idol look different than others by giving your own persoanl touch to it.

Points to Note

  • There is nothing that needs to be carried by you for the workshop. Tools, materials, Clay, apron and consumables will be provided at the studio.
  • As this is Eco Friendly Ganesha which needs to be later immersed in water, it cannot be fired.
  • Once your Ganehsa is made, you can carry it home.
  • After you make your Ganehsa, it will be wet. The weight of Ganesha will be approximately 2 to 3 kg therefore, make necessary arrangements to take it home safely without damage.
  • Wear appropriate clothing that makes working on the wheel comfortable for you
  • Keep the workspace clean and free of residual clay. Wipe down your work area, tools, and equipment after use
  • Keep noise levels to a minimum to maintain a peaceful and creative environment
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the studio premises

How can I immerse my Ganesha?

    • Till the time immersion day arrives, the Ganesha idol will slowly become dry.
    • You can immerse Ganesha in normal water. Just leave the idol in a big tub filled with water. Leave the Ganesha in water and in sometime the clay will start melting and Ganesha will start losing its form.
    • Once the Ganesha is completely immersed and turns into clay again, you can put the clay in plants, flower pots or in a Tulasi pot.
    • Once the immersion process is over, you can also re-use the clay to make something new.
